Squid Media — Social Media Agency for B2B SaaS Startups

If you run a B2B SaaS company and you’ve been searching for a Toronto B2B SaaS marketing agency, you’re probably already past the point of believing generic agency pitches. You don’t need another deck about “brand storytelling.” You need pipeline. You need to know why your competitor’s CEO keeps showing up on your LinkedIn feed. You need to know whether ChatGPT recommends your product when a buyer asks for “the best [your category] tool.”

That’s what Squid Media does.

We’re a Toronto-based marketing agency built specifically for B2B SaaS startups — the ones with $1M to $50M ARR, a real product, a real ICP, and zero patience for vanity metrics. We run four channels in lockstep: short-form social video, SEO content, AI search visibility (GEO), and attribution that ties all of it back to revenue in your CRM.

This page exists because most agencies in this category are either generalists who treat SaaS like e-commerce, or boutique shops that ship beautiful videos no buyer ever sees. We’re neither.

Why “B2B SaaS” needs its own agency category

B2B SaaS marketing isn’t harder than DTC marketing. It’s just structurally different in ways that break most agency playbooks.

Your sales cycle is 30 to 180 days. Your buyer is a committee of three to seven people. Your champion isn’t the decision-maker. Your brand awareness compounds quietly for six months and then closes a $200K deal in a single week. None of that fits a standard agency reporting cadence built around CTR, CPM, and weekly creative refreshes.

When a SaaS founder asks an agency “what did this campaign actually do for pipeline?” — most agencies can’t answer. They show you reach, impressions, engagement, maybe some “leads.” They don’t show you the closed-won deal where your founder watched seven of your videos before booking a demo.

We do. That’s the entire point of what we built.

The four channels, and why we run them together

Most agencies pick one channel and stretch. SEO shops can’t make video. Video shops don’t understand keyword research. Demand gen shops outsource everything and stitch reports together at the end of the month. The seams show.

We run four channels because they’re not actually four channels — they’re one buying journey, fragmented across surfaces.

Social video. Short-form on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Founder-led where it makes sense, brand-led where it doesn’t. The format isn’t the strategy — distribution is. We’ve put videos in front of 100M+ people for B2B SaaS clients, and we know which 800K-view videos actually closed deals versus which ones just made the founder feel famous.

SEO content. Long-form articles, programmatic landing pages, comparison content, content refreshes. We treat SEO and AI search as the same channel, because Google’s AI Overview and ChatGPT now share the same supply side: your content. If you’re invisible in one, you’re usually invisible in the other.

AI search visibility (GEO). When a buyer asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Gemini “what’s the best [category] tool for [use case]?” — your answer is whether you get cited. We track citations across all five surfaces, weekly, and we ship the content that moves the needle. This is the channel most agencies don’t even acknowledge yet. It’s also the one your competitors are about to wake up to.

Attribution + reporting. All of the above pipes into your CRM (HubSpot or Salesforce) with UTMs, view-through windows, and inferred lift modeling for the surfaces that don’t pass click data. We don’t promise 100% attribution accuracy — anyone who does is lying to you. We promise 60–75% direct attribution plus an honest model for the rest.

The reason we run them together: a buyer rarely converts off one channel. They watch a video, search the category on Google, ask ChatGPT for a shortlist, end up on your comparison page, and book a demo six weeks later. If your agency is only optimizing one of those steps, you’re paying for friction in the other four.

Why Toronto matters (and why it doesn’t)

Toronto has one of the strongest B2B SaaS ecosystems outside the Bay Area. Shopify, OpenText, Hootsuite, Wealthsimple, Ada, Clio, 1Password, Vidyard, Top Hat — and a few hundred Series A through Series C companies most people haven’t heard of yet but will. The talent density for product-led growth, content, and developer marketing is legitimately world-class.

We’re based here. We hire here. We understand how Canadian SaaS companies need to position when 70% of their TAM is American and the remaining 30% expects different messaging. We know which Toronto founders go to which events, which podcasts move pipeline in this market, and which “growth experts” to politely ignore.

That said — most of our clients aren’t in Toronto. They’re in San Francisco, New York, London, Berlin, Sydney. We work remotely with a Toronto-based team, the same way most modern SaaS companies operate. The Toronto piece is real, it just isn’t a constraint on who we work with.

If you specifically want a Toronto agency for tax credit reasons, a local relationship, or because you want a team in the same time zone — that’s a real reason and worth optimizing for. If you don’t care about location, what you’re actually evaluating is whether we’re a B2B SaaS specialist who happens to be in Toronto, or a Toronto agency who happens to take SaaS clients. We’re the first one.

What we don’t do

This is the section most agency websites refuse to write, which is exactly why it’s the most useful part of this page.

We don’t do paid media. We don’t run your Google Ads, your LinkedIn Ads, your retargeting. There are agencies who specialize in that and we’d rather refer you to one than fake it. Our entire model is built on owned and earned channels — content, video, SEO, GEO — because those compound and ad spend doesn’t.

We don’t do brand strategy as a standalone deliverable. We’ll absolutely shape your messaging, ICP definition, and positioning as part of an engagement, but we’re not a brand consultancy. If you don’t know who your buyer is yet, we’ll help — but we’re not going to spend three months on a brand book before producing anything.

We don’t do cold outbound. No sequences, no scraped lists, no SDR-as-a-service. The math on outbound for most B2B SaaS at our clients’ size doesn’t work the way the LinkedIn gurus claim it does, and we’d rather build distribution that lasts.

We don’t take 12 clients at once. The agency is built to run six to ten clients deep, not 30 clients shallow. If we’re full when you reach out, we’ll tell you and refer you out honestly.

How we price

Four tiers, transparent on the way in.

Starter — $15K/month. One channel, basic attribution. Usually social video or SEO, paired with a clean reporting layer. The right fit for companies who want to test what good looks like before going deeper.

Growth — $25K/month. Two channels, full attribution, monthly strategy reviews. The right fit for Series A companies with budget but not unlimited budget.

Full Stack — $40K/month. All four channels — social, SEO, GEO, attribution — plus our intelligence layer that feeds learnings between channels. The right fit for Series B and beyond, where pipeline expectations are real and the cost of slow execution is high.

Enterprise — $60K+/month. Full stack plus custom dashboards, dedicated strategist, and integration work for complex CRM and data setups. The right fit for companies running multi-product or multi-region motions.

These aren’t retainer floors with surprise add-ons. These are the prices.

What working with us actually looks like

The first 30 days, we don’t ship a single piece of public content. We onboard. We ingest your CRM, your GA4, your Search Console, your existing content inventory, your closed-won deals from the last 12 months. We map your ICP, your competitors, and your category’s AI search landscape. We talk to your sales team — not your marketing team — to figure out what actually closes deals.

Then we ship. Briefs go out, drafts come back, content gets edited, videos get produced, articles get published, and every single piece of work has a confidence score and a measured outcome. When something works, we double down. When something doesn’t, we kill it and tell you why. That’s it. That’s the whole methodology.

The reason we can do this is that we built our own internal platform — Squid Growth OS — that runs the operational backbone. It’s not something you log into or pay extra for. It’s the reason we can deliver four channels in lockstep at the price points above without the work falling apart at the seams.

Who this isn’t for

If you’re pre-revenue, pre-product, or pre-PMF, we’re the wrong agency. Not because your work doesn’t matter, but because what you need is a thought partner and 20 hours of focused work, not a full marketing engine.

If you’re looking for the cheapest agency in Toronto, we’re not it. There are agencies who’ll take $3K/month and produce some LinkedIn posts. We’re not competing on that axis.

If you want an agency that says yes to everything, we’re not it either. We push back. We tell you when your ICP is wrong, when your category positioning won’t survive AI search, when the campaign you’re asking for is going to underperform the campaign we’re recommending. Some founders find that exhausting. The ones who don’t tend to renew.

The next step

If you’ve read this far, you already know whether the fit is there. Two ways to take a real next step.

Book a fit call. 30 minutes. We’ll ask about your ARR, your current channel mix, your CRM, and your top three pipeline goals for the next two quarters. If we’re not a fit, we’ll say so on the call and tell you who is.

Send a deal review. If you’ve got one closed-won deal in the last 90 days, share the buyer journey with us — first touch to closed-won. We’ll send back a 1-page analysis of what we’d have done differently, on the house. It’s the most honest sales asset we have.

Either way: hello@squidmedia.co. Toronto-based, working with B2B SaaS companies globally, telling the truth about what marketing can and can’t do.
